Πρόκειται κατ᾿ ἀρχὴν περὶ ἑνὸς ἱστοχώρου-πλατφόρμας εὐρέος παραδοσιακοῦ-κριτικοῦ φάσματος προάγοντος τὴν πραγματικὴν ἐλευθερίαν ἐκφράσεως καὶ σκέψεως, κατ᾿ ἀντίθεσιν πρὸς τὴν κρατοῦσαν μονόχνωτον ὀρθοπολιτικὴν τυραννίαν. Ὁ τίτλος «Δήλιος δύτης» προέρχεται ἐκ τῆς Ἡρακλειτείου παραδόσεως, κατὰ μίαν εἰκόνα ποὺ ἐχρησιμοποίησεν ὁ Σωκράτης ἐρωτηθεὶς περὶ τῆς γνώμης του μετὰ τὴν μελέτην τοῦ συγγράμματος τοῦ Ἡρακλείτου «Περὶ Φύσεως», εἰπὼν ὅτι πρέπει νὰ δύναται κανεὶς νὰ καταδύεται εἰς μεγάλα βάθη «ὅπως οἱ περίφημοι Δήλιοι δῦται ποὺ ἁλιεύουν μαργαριτάρια ἀπὸ ἐκεῖνα» – τοῦτο δὲ συνδυαστέον πρὸς τὴν ἐν Δήλῳ λατρείαν τοῦ Ὑπερβορείου Ἀπόλλωνος, ἡ εἰς ἣν μύησις φέρει μόνον εἰς ἐπαφὴν μὲ τὴν ἡλιακότητα ἐκείνην καὶ πρωτογενῆ ἀκτινοβολίαν ποὺ ἀντιστοιχεῖ εἰς τὰ Ἡρακλείτεια βάθη!

Why the name “Long Dive” ?
The “Long Dive” became a symbol of the ability to interpret. Originally, it was “lengthy” probably because Délu was said to have collected pearls at relatively large depths. Then the Apollo initiation of this island approaches. In allegorical interpretation, it means that it is only from the outpouring of Apollo, from the preserve of the glowing god, that it is possible with hope to plunge into the depths and return with something very rare. … The image of a diver who plunges into the depths of the stream into a depth which he does not find out of the surface to bring about something that will shine …

The task the Delsian diver has set out is not to persuade the environment about the correctness of the worldview, derived from self-identification with a certain ideology or thought scheme, but in order to support and revive the critical thinking of the West, return to ideological discussion, freedom of spirit, the current deep socio-cultural crisis. We are a collective website where everyone who is interested and contributing can contribute. Contributors’ opinions do not necessarily match each other.
The Long Dive continues the tradition of a blog of the same name and does not feel bound by loyalty to any political party or political ideology. On agricultural divers publish and published authors close to classical conservatism and traditionalism, as well as directions so. “New Right” , anti-globalists, advocates a “third way” , religious minded intellectuals – Orthodox Christians, Catholics, atheists, as well as supporters of pre-Christian “pagan” religion. The publication axis remains the same; it consists mainly of political and socio-scientific themes, and also cultural themes.
The major interests Délského diver remains a politico-cultural, historiographical and a religious research of European civilization, the struggle for the freedom of ideological debate and the rejection of Manichaean, black and white perception of the world, discharging the universalistic intolerance, covering up how many “rightist”and “leftist” views, comprehending the world exclusively one-dimensional in the intentions of their own “-isms.”
